The Black Talent Initiative searches for, identifies, and counsels top Black talent. We aim to increase the number of African Americans serving in permanent positions in the legislative branch of the federal government.
As our 2015 report on Senate Staff Diversity has illustrated, a systematic effort is needed to ensure African Americans are represented in policy making positions in Congress. As a joint collaboration of over 30 African-American organizations and over 250 policy and communications experts, the Black Talent Initiative uses a talent bank to match the resumes of strong African-American candidates to staff positions on the Hill. We then meet with legislative branch officials to review and recommend strong African-American candidates for available positions.
